Bellator MMA are one of the biggest mixed martial arts promotion companies in the world. Based in California, USA, the organisation embarked on their UK tour in 2019, bringing their combat sports shows to local audiences in Newcastle, Birmingham and London.

The Challenge.

The challenge was help promote the Bellator MMA events for the 2019 UK tour, marketing shows throughout the country, including Newcastle, Birmingham and London. Ticket sales and attendance needed to increase, along with the marketing reach and overall awareness of the events. Help was required for organising press events, including location scouting and venue sourcing.

Social Media Marketing

Our marketing team were tasked with creating a multi-platform campaign to help promote the UK MMA tour for Bellator. Starting with Newcastle, then moving on to Birmingham and London, the events required a national presence.

It was vital to generate awareness through multi-channel campaigns, which our team planned, designed and executed, bringing in exceptional results and engaging with a target audience. Our campaigns increased the social engagement by and incredible 82%, and increased the reach by a massive 160%

Direct Marketing

Using both highly targeted marketing and strategic re-marketing, our team were able to generate a 64% increase on ticket sales. We were able to create a captive audience and engage with them across multiple channels with one specific goal – to sell tickets. We achieved unparalleled results, increasing ticket sales by an astounding 64%.

Our creative team were tasked with designing billboard adverts for each event throughout the country, showcasing the fights, announcing the contender match-ups, and provide dates and locations for the events.

The large format media needed to be eye-catching, engaging and informative, giving passers by everything they needed to know in an instant, whilst also matching the design style of the catalogue of artwork produced for the events.


As part of the extended marketing strategy, our events team were invited to organise the weigh-in press events for the contenders. We scouted locations and confirmed dates. Using our wide network reach we were able to fill each venue to capacity with local and national press, raising more awareness to the fights, and generating excitement during the pre-match build up.
